The HTTP query redirection category includes web resources serving a mediator for downloading content from other web resources via special web applications which serve as means of:
- Bypassing access restrictions to certain URLs or IP-addresses.
- Granting anonymized access to web resources, including web resources that intentionally reject HTTP-requests from certain IP addresses or groups of Ips (for example, by country of origin).
- Accessing any web resources implementing functionality similar to the one described above.
Pros: Blocking prevents a child accessing restricted/banned websites using so-called “session anonymizers” or “proxies”.
Recommendations: Parents are required to block this category in order to prevent a child from bypassing Parental Control.
